Using Results Based Leadership to Improve Child, Family, and Community Well-being:  Developing Multi-Sector Leaders’ Capacity to Work Collaboratively

Individually and collectively, leaders have long sought ways to implement strategies that achieve measurable and lasting improvements in the well-being of children, families, and communities.  Yet, gaps often exist between desired results and current realities.  The RBLC seeks to address and ultimately eliminate these gaps head-on by conducting research to inform a set of evidence-based leadership practices and applying these practices in communities and programs across the country.

The RBLC’s programs develop the leadership capacity of public, private, faith, business, and community leaders and promote collaboration across sectors.  The Theory of Aligned Contributions (TOAC), a conceptual model and an emerging theory of change, provides a framework that catalyzes and supports leaders in their efforts to achieve measurable results for populations.  Emerging research suggests that through their participation in these programs, leaders develop a set of competencies that enables them to simultaneously create strong, cross-sector relationships and action agendas that produce measurable results.  By applying the RBLC approach, leaders can move from effort to success and ensure healthy communities and effective programs.
