Monica is the Business Manager for the Do Good Institute. The Do Good Institute serves as the
catalyst to transform the University of Maryland into the nation’s first Do Good Campus, where
students are inspired to take action and spur innovations and solutions that tackle today’s social
issues. As business manager, Monica supports critical DGI operations including budget,
finance, and administrative management.
Monica joins the Institute with years of experience working in business management,
administration and finance. Over the last five years, she worked with the University of
Maryland's Athletics Department in several management, finance, and administration roles.
As coordinator of Olympic Sports, she managed day-to- day operations for numerous Olympic
sports and coordinated all aspects of team travel, initiated and processed purchase orders,
disbursement vouchers, expense statements, travel card allocations, official payments and
foundation deposits. As executive assistant to the director of athletics, she reported directly to
the Athletics Director and supervised one administrative assistant and 8 student employees. In
addition, she worked very closely with the president’s office, deans, the provost, the chancellor’s
office, the governor, congressmen, state, general counsel and high level donors.
Prior to joining University of Maryland, Monica worked as a financial graduate assistant at Saint
Francis University, where she audited, reconciled, budgeted and logged all departmental
expenses for the athletics department. Monica holds a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from
The Pennsylvania State University and a Master of Business Administration from Saint Francis
