Dr. Mengye Zhu is a Postdoctoral Associate at the Center for Global Sustainability. Her research focuses on energy transition and climate mitigation, particularly from a political economy perspective. She has extensive experience conducting fieldwork in the public and private sectors. Her doctoral research analyzed China’s wind power development by exploring the investment logic of central state-owned enterprises (CSOEs) and their interactions with the central/local governments based on in-depth field investigations and both qualitative and quantitative data analysis. She holds a Ph.D. in Public Administration from Tsinghua University, a Master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of Pittsburgh, and a Bachelor’s degree in Management Sciences from Beijing Foreign Studies University. Before her Ph.D., Mengye worked as a Research Assistant at the Brookings-Tsinghua Center for Public Policy and as a Policy Analyst at the Climate Policy Institute of Tsinghua University.
